Books etc.

Do you want loan collections of fiction and poetry to encourage your students to read more widely?
Are you interested in graphic novels?
Do you want to set up a research topic on the Tudors?

We have an extensive stock of books, posters, DVDs / videos to resource and extend the curriculum and to support extended reading. We are passionate about our book stock and select all titles with great care. We ensure that we reflect cultural diversity and we constantly seek to add the unusual and unexpected to our book stock. We buy new titles regularly and search out books published in other countries as well as from the flourishing UK book market. We are enthusiastic about picture books and the wide variety of uses that they have in terms of developing visual literacy and critical and philosophical thinking.

The average price of the kind of books we buy is £10.50. A subscribing two-form entry school where every teacher borrows will have access to book resources with a current value of £65,000. This amounts to 10 items per pupil each year and is a cost-effective way of supporting learning with up-to-date, relevant resources.
