Advisory support is a key part of The School Library Service's work with schools. Our advisory, training and consultancy services can bring your school library up-to-date and help your students develop their library and research skills and love of reading.
Using resources We run school-based training courses on using resources (books, artefacts and costumes) in imaginative ways to support the curriculum and to develop creativity.
We are keen to help schools keep up-to-date with new books and resources and to find ways of inspiring their students to become readers and the school to develop as a reading community. We have a number of programmes and strategies to help with this, working in partnership with other organisations like Reading Connects and The Reading Agency.
